Dawn at Fox's Cove

Having slept under the stars on a beach in west Wales, I awoke to find a trail of fox prints crossing the sand and diverting to avoid the spot on the high water mark where I was stretched out in my sleeping bag. The fox had made no sound nor had attempted to either investigate me further or disturb me. It was as if he had been completely indifferent and tolerant of the interloper on his territory.
