A Song For Night
A homage to the beauty and wonder of the Moon, seen by us all but so often taken for granted.
The book comprises 20 pages, 10 sketches and 10 pages of poetry. It retells the experience of observing the Moon and spending time at one with the vast night sky as well as visualising the relative scale and distance of the Moon. The size of the Earth on the front cover and the Moon on the back are in proportion to each other. At the same time the length of the book represents the average distance between the two bodies at the same scale.
The sketches were made from photographs taken from a suburban garden not far from the centre of Coventry (of course, those featuring the Earth itself are different, coming from imagination fuelled by many of the images from the NASA archive).
